Here is what he sent me. I have not yet found the actual wording about Ford and VW merging, just the part that it says VW is looking for a partner. Mind you I have not looked to hard because it is late and I need to get to bed. I have a 900 km journey to make tomorrow to get to my job site.

This will effect the ST and Explorer, but probably not the consumer. They are just trying to match production to sales. Too many unsold units on the lots.
