I have a V-10 in an 03 F250. I'm not sure if its the same motor, but its a solid performing motor.

The V10 is nothning more than a 5.4L V8 with two extra cylinders.

Ford produces the BEST Class C chassis on the market....period.

GM beats Ford by price alone.

One word of caution. When the SOHC Engines sit for extended periods of time, when starting them up, they will rattle until the cam chain tensioner fill full of oil. No problems are caused by it. It will freak you out until you expect it.

My father currently owns a 34' Coachman Catalina Class A with a 460 in it. It was the last year of the 460. The V10 is a better engine.

If you like it and the pricew is right, get it.

Ford builds the best Class C Chassis. Ask any RV dealer. As for Class A chassis, that is debateable. Workhorse chassis and GM 8.1L V8 or a Ford F-53 V10. Pros and cons of each.

For the Class C chassis, there is not question about it. Frame is thicker. Higher GVW rating. Better brakes. Wider frame. I could go on and on.

There is more to an RV than engine alone. Trust me. Been RV'ing since I was in my mother womb.

IF you put MOOG sway bar end links and Raybestos Brake pads on it I am sure you will be 100% happy.... LOL:lol::lol::lol:

The V-10's a a solid motor depending on the year... there is a common problem with the earlier V-10's to blow spark plugs right out of the block. Our '97 did this, and she still runs strong as ever (after a repair of course).

We have a E-350 at work with the V-10. Awesome engine, currently we have 210,00 very very hard miles on it, and it runs awesome. Tranny went at 175,000 or so, but other than that, the engine has been a gem. Note, that maintenance wasn't exactly regular either, so this gives even more credit to it.
