I changed some of the wording, pretty cool though

Don't tell me your age; you probably would tell a falsehood anyway-but the ST Swami will know!

YOUR AGE BY ST MATH

This is pretty neat.

DON'T CHEAT BY SCROLLING DOWN FIRST!

It takes less than a minute .

Work this out as you read ..

Be sure you don't read the bottom until you've worked it out!

This is not one of those waste of time things, it's fun.

1. First of all, pick the number of times a day that you would like to have drive your ST

(more than once but less than 10)

2. Multiply this number by 2 (just to be bold)

3. Add 5

4. Multiply it by 50 -- I'll wait while you get the calculator

5. If you have already had your birthday this year add 1756 ....

If you haven't, add 1755.

6. Now subtract the four digit year that you were born.

You should have a three digit number

The first digit of this was your original number

(i.e., how many times you want to drive your ST each day).

The next two numbers are

YOUR AGE! (Oh YES, it is!!!!!)

THIS IS THE ONLY YEAR (2006) IT WILL EVER WORK, SO SPREAD IT AROUND WHILE IT LASTS.

OK, that's just stupid.

Steps 1-4 yields 50(2x+5) = 100x+250, where x is your random single-digit number.

Adding 1756 and subtracting the year of birth gives us 100x + 2006 - YOB.

A person's age is calculated as (current year - YOB), so now that equals 100X + age.

Whipdedoo.

And it will work in future years--next year just change the numbers to 1756 and 1757 instead of 1755 and 1756.

Also, it only works if you're 99 years old or less. So some of you olde farts are out of luck. :)

karma--

The claims of it being "pretty neat", and "not one of those waste of time things" came across to me as being rather stupid. Both claims were false for anyone with more than a fourth-grade math education.

Then again, this may just be the engineer-whose-had-a-very-stressful-day-dealing-with-people-who-can't-understand-basic-addition side of me rearing its ugly head. :)

And I never said I have all options. I wrote that I have all options except leather and Pioneer. What part of "except" are you failing to comprehend?

Thats amazing that someone would razz the guy for putting up a lil friday fun.Thats exactly what it is, fun. I thought it was a pretty cool trick.Save your critisizm for something worth it. Like my spelling. Or go to a math site and talk crap about alga-rhythms .

Sorry, i'll just keep them to myself next time.... It was supposed to say "sex" anyway, which would have been more fun...
