I got stuck in the UP and found that my engine kept shutting of every now and then before it went ka-put and woudn't start. it seems my winter floor mat was hitting the fule shut off reset switch wires.

So make sure you trim your big winter floor mats and if you have problems check the switch. Also had it where it wouldn't pop up and had to hit it with a wrench til it popped and then had to reset it. it happened a couple times till I trimmed the mat a little.

hope this helps since I had to learn the hard way.

Yeah this was an issue with my Trac. A buddy of mine and myself were going to the casino and the trac just shut down on the highway. I pull off of the road......trac wont start but turns over. After 15 min I recall having a problem with this switch and look under the dash. He must have stepped high up on the mat and it broke the tabs off of the harness causing the switch to come loose shutting down the Trac. I had it replaced under warranty.

its a push button with the button on top of a housing that is about an inch and a half wide and two inches long mounted on the firewall just to the right of the passengers foot...look at your owners manual or just look under you dash on the right.
