OK .... I have pretty much decided on going with a Gen 2, although I still like the look of the Gen 1 better. Is there a easy way to find the differenceds between the 07, 08, 09 and so on.

I know the 07 has the power rear window as a option. Standard after 08

I dont belive the 07 has the hidden storage in the bed, not sure about this one.

Something different about the door handles or pulls. Found this mentioned but not explained.

Nav system changed. Other electronics became available in latter models.

Colored lower trim on 08 and latter vs the neutral on the 07

Any others things I should know about? Looking at the XLT trim level.

Mike, The door pull difference between the 07 and later models is that the 07 only had a pull located below the armrest - was down low and hard to get at easily (my opinion).

The 08 and later include a pull built into the armrest behind the door release.

I like the hidden bed storage for items I like to have in the truck but not for daily us. I keep my hitch ball mounts and small tools and a disposable coverall in them. The two back ones are small but all have drain holes and are fairly weather tite. You can fit a six pack and ice in the either rear one!

Good luck on your decision! :eek:nline:

Mike I can not speak for the '08 and '09, but I owned an '07 and now a '10. To me the only thing better about the '07 was that it had a handle to unlatch the front storage bin in the front of the bed where the '10 does not. Again to me, the '10 is more refined than the '07, I think due to Ford improving on the Trac after 3 years. Both of them are great trucks, the '07 had some TSB's with the tranny, but other than that, I had absolutely no problems from either truck, put over 60k miles on the '07, and the '10 just turned 1 year old last Sunday and it just turned 19k miles.

Mike you say you don't like the looks of '07 on up as well as Gen 1, have you looked @ the Adrenalin in a Gen 2? just an idea, I personally wouldn't have bought a Gen 2 w/out it being an Adrenalin, but to each his own...

i agree with les, we all have our own thing we are looking for, but i would not have bought 2010 if it wasnt a adrenalin either. Just like the whole appearence package better.

Wish you could get the light grey leather in the Gen 2. Its been great in my Gen 1. Easy to keep. Most of the Gen 2 I look at either have black or light light tan cloth. Not a fan of back and I'm not neat enough for the light color.

'07 does have the hidden storage in the bed. TSB fixed the tranny bump. I personally wouldn't have bought an STA vs. Limited for the $$$ difference, unless the STA had a supercharged V8 -- that would have been cool.

Mike, i was just looking at your profile, your in vermont. Im in new hampshire. I love the black leather in my adrenalin and in the northeast like we are, you cant beat the heated seats!!!!

Only early build '07's had a fixed rear window. I've seen two. After a while the power window was standard. My '08 has the low rear door handles like an '07 but it is a very early build '08, built in August '07.

Early Gen 2s also lacked the auxiliary input for the stock sound system. That's something I'd find important (though not as important as a movable back window), and wish that the Gen 1 had come with. Cars in the early 90s had them as options, they should have been standard long before now IMO.
