Gen 2 Power seat not going up or down

Getting ready to pull my driver seat and troubleshoot the power seat issue, has anyone ran into this and troubleshot it yet?
All other controls still work on the seat, but when pressing the down switch (after set at the wife’s drive height) the motor just makes noise with no seat movement.

Sounds like broken cable or it came off.

I had a similar problem but I’m sure it was a different cause. My dog was hanging out there and chewed some wires. Spliced them back together and gave the dog a stern warning. All has been good since

Finally started nosing around and it appears that a shaft may be broken. The middle of the switch moving back & forth moves the seat accordingly without issue. The front of the multi position switch moves the front part of the seat up and down without issues (see front shaft in photo. The rear of the multi position switch move the rear of the seat up and down through the second shaft, and this is what appears to be broken. I’ll pull the seat some time this week and verify.

Not tho sound weird, does anyone else have a crooked shaft or are they all straight?

FYI - In Aerospace it’s called a jack screw with a cog attached.

Since I’m going to tear it apart, then I might as well order the gears first. Regardless if the plastic has shelled yet, I rather fix that at the same time (we have IBS here too).
