Todd,,Would my '04 have the new style tensonor. Im running the shorter gates belt. Power steering slipping at high rpm again. After 6k miles. I have checked my tensoner. It is very strong.

This is a 2006 part number..... Don't know if ford changed any thing from the 04, But it was different then my 03.....



Check yours, rev the engine, watch how much the tensioner moves, that will show the belt stretch and or a week tensioner.....

Todd, on rev I get 3/8 to 1/2" outward swing. The tensoner pulling the belt tight. I do get more bounce than normal at idle. That is uneven stretch. O'reilys has lifetime on gates belts. Im going that route first. Only 6K on the belt.

If needed I will get back to you on the tensoner.
