Just heard on the news that country singer George Jones has died at the age of 81. They said he was in the hospital for the past week with a fever and irregular blood pressure, but gave no cause of death.

Yes, I agree. I was not a fan, but he is one of the big country music superstars.
Odd that he was also known as the "Opossum" because he did looked a little like an opossum, and "No Show Jones" because he frequently failed to show up for shows, or performances where he was scheduled to appear. I understand that was due to his excessive use of drugs and alcohol?

First time I heard Jones sing was in 1950 at the KRNT theater in Des Moines. He was 18
and I was 15.....He had a crew cut, which was popular back in the day. One of my favorite CW singers. RIP, George! :haveabeer:
