So I come home today and see a package on my front steps. I scurry over to see what it is. "Wow! A package from Wayne Foy!! Finally!" I exclaim this to myself. My wife is relieved that I will finally quit talking about not getting this and I won't have to hear about how I am too trusting towards other people. I pick it up and something inside is rattling around. I thought it was strange since the outside box is in perfect shape. No dents or dings in it at all. I hurry inside adn get ready to open it. I figure it would be a good idea to document the opening, as I had a problem before with something mailed to me being the wrong thing..and with the way things are going, I'd better snap some photos...

I cut the box open to find that there was a minimum of packing peanuts included. I figure that it is ok since it is probably packed in a foam inside the box. The SCT box looks like it has been crushed in one spot... Weird I thought since it is supposed to be new..

Quote from email from Wayne when I was making sure the XCal was new and not one he had laying around:
"Larry,
It is a new and unlocked Xcal2. Yes, I will be around to do the tuning, I am still a dealer in good standing with SCT, as is evident by me being listed on their web site dealer list. I also spoke with one of the owners today at length, and he assured me that all is well with me on their end."
End Quote.
So I remove the box from the packing peanuts and open it. This is what I found. A USB cable and the tuner. Isn't there an instruction manual or any packing foam??

So that is it. I pick up the tuner and examine it. There is a Warranty Void sticker over one spot on the tuner. It is ripped partially and look like it has been tampered with. (Peeled back and stuck back down) You can see the tear in the photo coming from the top starting in the 1 o clock position. Looks like a white line. Plus some of the plastic under the sticker in the 9-10 o clock position is broken and pushed back. It is still there, but folded in...
[Broken External Image]:
Plus, this side of the tuner (opposite the sticker) has a large gap that looks like it has been pried open. When I squueze it the gap lessens and looks like the other side of the tuner
[Broken External Image]:
So am I just paranoid that this thing is not new or what?? Is this the way they all come?? Am I supposed to hook up the USB to the my computer (laptop) to see if it is programmed or what?? I don't even know if he put any tunes on it or not....
