I have seen some posts of people's accidents and seen how tough this truck is. I have had mine for 6 years and put 126,000 miles on it, today was just another day with another reason why I love my ST.

I was driving down the freeway in the middle lane and traffic started to back up. I slowed down from about 60 to about 50 to match the traffic ahead of me. All of a sudden I could feel the impact, the back of the ST came off the ground and shifted left slightly. A split second later, the rear-end came back down and I need to correct a little. At that point, I look up in the rear view mirror to see a 70's corvette spinning out behind me. I don't know how he didn't hit anything else, but he spun to a stop and then met me on the side of the road. His corvette went under the ST, all because he wasn't looking. He mentioned that if I didn't stop, he would not have known who he hit. Both of us were able to drive away, no injuries, just his car looks pretty bad. (fiberglass corvettes) His front end is messed up pretty bad, the ST just has some scratches and a hole in the grey bumper cover. The ST is such a strong puppy and I have always loved it. It has proved to be a reliable fun loving vehicle, and now it has proven how safe it is.

I hope to fix it real soon and get ready for the next 126,000 miles on it. I took some pics with the cell phone, but I just got the phone and I don't know how to upload them yet. Stay safe out there everybody.

DAMN that looks to be a 78 with the silver anniversary paint job.

im glad to see the trac held up well and all i can say is its a good

thing it was that vette and not something bigger that hit you at that

speed.

i have to check my corvette forum and see if it was one of the guys from there.

Yeah, the accident could have been alot worse. I am glad it wasn't. I didn't feel much when he hit me, but he pretty much got the scare of his life as he spun out. He was a pretty nice guy and we were both pretty mellow over the whole thing. He said he had the car for about 15 years, this was the first wreck on the car. It was a nice car up until the accident of course.

Glad your ok,

His car is defiantly worse than the trac.....
