I slept all day.
When I came home from work on friday, after working 12 hours, I noticed one of my Kuhli Loaches dead in the bubble pipe for the underground filter. I noticed there was an opening leading to below the underground filter. Took a flashlight under the tank and seen that my other Kuhli Loach was under that filter trapped in a corner and it looked like it was strugling to free itself. So, after 12 hours at work, I made the decision to free it. Not an easy task after being awake for 18+ hours. I fished out the other fish and put them in a bucket. I siphoned most of the water out of the tank and then scooped the gravel out. I then removed the filter to get the kuhli loach. I then cleaned the gravel, cleaned the underground filter, and put everything back together. Filled the tank back up and put the fish back into thier new home. I am happy to say the Kuhli Loach is alive a well. I was upset that the other one died, but I was able to save the other.
I am attached to my fish...as you can tell. I have had that Kuhli Loach for almost 7 years and it still seems very active and healthy. I just couldn't let it possibly die under there afterall, they are my "kids".
When I was finished, the sun was rising and once the sun rises, I can't fall asleep. So, I just stayed up all day Saturday 'till I finally went to bed at about 1AM. (Sunday morning) So, I was up from about 8:30 AM friday morning 'till 1 AM sunday morning for a total of 40 1/2 hours. Needless to say I was extremely tired.
Molly (my dog) got me a card and wished me a Happy Fathers Day. I have a feeling, she got Theresa's help in getting me the card since Molly isn't tall enough to drive.
I love that little girl!!!
I ended up sleeping from 1 am until noon when I had to start to get ready to go to work.
Oh well...such is life. I would do it again in a heartbeat. I couldn't knowingly let a fish die if it didn't have to.
