Well I have a 2001 Green Sport trac with Magna Flow exhaust, X-Cal2, Volant CAI 90k Miles and I have to sell it for something cheaper. Im hoping to get around 12-14 for my track, but can only spent 6-9k on a new vehicle.

I want to stay 4x4, and am looking at Jeep Grand Cherokee Limiteds, but it seems they have so many maintenance problems. What do you guys/gals suggest?

I think for 6-9K your only going to buy someone Else's headache......

You could get a new yaris or some econobox....

ALSO your profile says you have a 2002, and above you wrote 2001????

Have you checked the book value at www.nada.com ??

A Jeep Grand Cherokee will make your Trac seem like a Toyota for reliability. Jeep GC's are nothing but huge headaches for their owners. Go check some GC sites if you don't trust me.

The mods you did to your Trac will net you nothing for trade-in value.

I used to have a GC. I liked it, but it had some headaches.

I would stay away from the Range Rovers. Everyone I know who has ever owned one got rid of it and they would never recommend them.

If you want to stay w/ a 4x4, how about a Ranger? They get better gas mileage and are cheaper......

That's my 2 cents!

By the way, you would not get much for any mods....I'd be interested in your XCAL2 chip and/or Volant CAI! :D

whats up! your st blue books at 11,000 and thats in good condition. it says that the average miles should be around 62,000 so your a little bit over that number. also, darin is right the mods you did doesnt really help at all, and some people wont even buy a vehicle with alot of mods. as for another 4x4, i would consider a toyota pickup. i dont think that i would buy range rover especially if your on a tight budget.

What do you guys think of 1999 and 2000 Range Rovers?

You really think you could find a 1999 Range Rover for 6 to 9K on something that was $60,000 new? And if you did, do you really honestly think it will be worth a crap? Range Rover repairs are expensive...very expensive. I am not sure how the newer ones are, but the older ones required their own special mechanic to do everything.

The price you are looking for will get you a vehicle 10 years old with well over 100,000 miles. Be prepared to open your wallet for repairs.

I go back to the Ranger, an 06 base model 4x4 starts at 14k and with 2k in rebatesit is only 12k. I can honestly see you getting one new for about 10k and used but still only a few years old for less. Hell, you could probably get one that is a year old with a warrenty still for 9k.

Tough spot- list your ST at $12,500 and see what happens- the mileage will scare off most people unless you have a 100k warranty. I vote Ford Ranger also- a Range Rover of those years will kick you in the bollocks with repair bills...

I know several people that have or had Jeep Grand Cherokee's and they all regreted buying them.
