The wife and I are headed to Philadelphia in Sept. She an appointment for a medical issue with a specialist. We may stay overnight, so is there any must sees while we are there?

I passed through for a quick visit once. Flyers hockey game(I'm a Caps fan), Liberty bell and a cheese-steak:) Prayer going out for the little lady

...your ST is one of my all time favorites!

Gary,

My then-girlfriend (now-wife) and I visited Philly for a few days several years ago. If you're at all a history buff, definitely get down to see not only the Liberty Bell, but have enough time to do the tours of all of the Independence Hall area. It's a very cool, almost eerie feeling to be in the room where they debated the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution, with the guide informing you where each Founding Father was seated at the time.

If you're looking for a more light-hearted, fun tour, check out the Ducks. They're as cheesy as it gets, but they're a lot of fun, and (from the perspective of this non-resident) provided a lot of great information about the city as well.

We had a lot of fun there--although Michelle was a bit disappointed going home because she thought I was planning to propose while we were at a Phillies game. (It happened instead about three weeks later while back at home.)

Thanks for the info Bill. Once we get the doctor visit out of the way, we'll have Thursday afternoon and most of Friday to check out the city. The Mutter museum is there that my wife wants to go to also.

All is well for now with the doctor visit. The very first stop was at Pat's Steaks. Although it was good, it should have been a little more filling as they were $19 for two. Got to the Liberty Bell and the surrounding area. The Mutter was " disturbingly informative ". If you have a weak stomach, don't go there. Thanks for all the tips.
