help..driver side speaker issue..panel is off

About a year ago the speaker in the driver's side door quit working. I had always assumed that the speaker wire connection had probably worked loose. So today I used one of the projects on here to talk me thru taking off the door panel. Turns out the speaker wire was hooked up and the speaker does work, so what do I do from here? Does this mean it's in the stereo? maybe a channel has went out? ANy advice at all would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Could be the speaker could be the radio.



I would pull both door panels off and swap speakers and see if it works. Then go from there.

It's not the speaker......I hooked the speaker up to another stereo and It works fine.

You might be going deaf in your left ear! :lol:



Or...it might just be a cut wire. My brother's 03 Trac had 5 wires get crimped/cut in his door jam for his window switch, this might be what happened to you. You might want to pull the head unit and do a continuity test on the speaker wires before you go turning this into an expensive endeavor.

I was going to say the wires in the door also...



Simply look at the wires color... Then take off the kick plate in the truck and find the same wires, Tap into them to see if there is sound...



Go from there
