As some of you know my memphis subs were stolen a while back. well it will soon be time to replace them. the will go in a custom box behind the seat. im am trying to decide between the new memphis s-class and the JL TW5. they are both slim subs but i cant find any spec as far as air space requirement for the memphis. i did for the JL and it looks promising. But i was kinda wanting to keep my whole system memphis. sound is more important though. anyone have experience with either or simply an opinion?

well mine are going back behind my seats. i have always had a problem putting stuff under the seat that doesnt let my seats fold down immediately. and i think the gen 1 has a little less room behind the seat than the gen 2 at least thats how it looks. because of the window motor. i wish i could relocate it but i know i can fit speakers i just want the best bang for the buck. either will probably satisfy me because im used to no subs now and i dont require a whole lot anyway. i had a lot, it got old, i sold em

If Budget is a concern, look at the Pioneer shallow subs. I've heard them in person, and although not as good as the Rockfords, they're pretty nice for the price.

I'd stay away from the Sony ones like an infectious plague, though.

well i just got a price from my guy on the JL's and the 12TW5 is gonna be $449 and the 13.5TW5 will be $549. so i can cross those off the list because thats way expensive for one sub.

dingo, are the rockfords that good? and can i fit at least two tens behind my gen 1 rear seats without doing firglass again?

Shouldn't be a problem fitting them.

And ask Griff or Axel or Brent. Maybe one of 'em will chime in. 2 of the three have them and the third has been in my truck.
