Hi everyone,

I am looking at buying a hitch since I am tired of getting damage to the rear bumper during tight turns. I was looking to buy a hitch from Ebay, but there are so many on there....that I dont know which one to buy. Does anyone have any opinions on which one I should get? Maybe you have bought one?

I know I want a class III and I would like for it to be below 175 bucks. I found a couple by Curt, but I am not sure if they make good hitches.

Please let me know, and thank you in advance,

George T.

George,

Go to www.Uhaul.com and order hitch 78206 Round Tube it's a class 3 Black for $134.95 Installing is a snap.

Here's the instal instructions.

I had looked into doing the same and decided on just buying a factory Ford unit, I figure it was specifically designed for the ST and roughly the same price as any aftermarket unit. I saw one on eBay for about $165. Just my .02

Thanks Cabrera...Ill possibly get one from them.

Nik, how much is it for the factory one?

Thanks again,

George T.

DO NOT BUY FROM UHAUL!!!

They WILL NOT rent you a trailer. Why should you support them if they will not support you.

Cool, thanks man. Im still deciding if I really need the factory one...

:lol:Caymen...I was thinking the same thing...why do they sell us hitches when they dont let us rent trailers from them.

Thanks though,

George T

I have a Curt hitch on my Trac. Replaced the Ford OEM hitch I destroyed by overloading it too many times.

The Curt hitch is very nice.

I had a factory hitch on my "05. I removed it and put on a "Hidden-hitch". I like it better cause it's up outta the way in case you want to put on dual exhausts...

Yeah Uhaul is a bit hypocritical in that respect. The will sell & even install the hitch but refuse to rent you a trailer. Unfortunatly Explorer owners boycotting will make little difference to them. I beat their refusal by having magnetic removable badges on my ST. It appears that they will rent me a trailer for my "4 door Ranger"

As far as their hitches they are excellent & inexpensive at $135 as well as very simple to install. Plus, they are local. It all basically comes down th a few dollars.

I did a bad thing and got mine from U haul a long, long time ago. But I offered him 95.00 for it and they let me have it:huh: Plus I needed it that day.

That is because people will support U-Haul whenever it "Works out for them". Boycotting works if everyone stands firm.

Hidden Hitch is the shiznit. Had one on my old '05. Tucks up behind the bumper real nice, about all you see is the receiver.

I bought mine from Uhaul and the three ball receiver for $168 installed. When I need a car trailer for car shows that are further away I get one from there, I just take my buddy's '05 F250 to get it but they know what I'm really towing it with. My ST actually tows straighter and better than his F250 that was built for towing/ hauling. I only do this because I can't affird to buy a car trailer yet.[Broken External Image]:

Wow. Thanks for all the response. I am curious, can someone post a pic of Curt hitch and a Hidden hitch, I want to see if there is a big difference. Does the Curt hitch stick out more?

Thanks again,

George T.
