Tire cupping is not caused by the tire. It's caused by the shocks or bad suspension parts, or bent wheels. The tire cups because it's bouncing excessively.
Goodyear Wrangler RT/S tires cost about $85-$100 each and are nowhere near a top of the line tire. Most manufacturers buy the cheapest tires that meet the vehicle spec's and DOT approval. I recently priced New Goodyear TripleTread tires and the regular price is $196 each, but were on sale at the time for $170 each. At that price I will stick it out with the OEM Wrangler RT/S's. Dispite the poorwet weather traction they seem to be wearing very well and we don't get that much rain here in Texas.
