how many litres of fluid for front diff

Jow many liters of diff fluid should I be buying for the front diff. I went to the parts store and they said 2.2L for the rear diff but it ended up taking 3L. I would like to find out for sure before I attempt to do it next saturday. (taking front cover off looks impossible)

I bought two one-quart bottles and it used most of them. The local Qwicky-Lube sucked the old out for me with their machine and put in the Mobil 1 lube I had for $30 per axle. I agree, the front looks pretty near impossible to do it otherwise.
