I was on here awhile ago telling my story of getting an estimate of my vehicle’s value from a local dealer. They looked it over and came back with the offer of $500. Cash. (LOL!) As I drove away they ran after me, yelling - Ok, $1000!, $1500! It was downright hilarious!
That said, I’ve owned it over 3 years now. It’s been a great truck. I just don’t need a truck or even that big a vehicle anymore. So I’m thinking I’ll sell it. It does have 246K miles on it. I’ve taken it to a nearby shop since I’ve had it and it’s had very little done to it other than oil changes. They tell me it’s cleaner than most of the new Ford trucks they see come in.
I put new rims and tires on about a year and a half ago and also saved the original chrome wheels that came on it.
Interior is excellent, not a rip or a tear anywhere.
It’s a good little truck. Do the wise elders here on Sport Trac Forum think I could get $7500 for it?

Gonna be hard to get $7500 for any 17 year old vehicle with 246K, even tho yours looks very clean. Youll have to find the right buyer...

Yeah, I was thinking you’re probably right. What would you price it at if I wanted to move it immediately? Surely more than $1500?

For sure. Probably somewhere 3-4K range. I paid 5500 for mine, 2002 with 152000 miles when i bought it. Of course that was also in the height of covid, when used car prices were through the roof.

That's a nice looking ST. Easily around 5k or more if it were here in Ohio.

Thx. Yeah, where’s all the adults buying old vehicles for their kids in high school to work on, fix up and drive around? The dads and grandpas? For auto shop? I guess that stuff is just a distant memory nowadays. People are buying their teenagers new Teslas😊

nah although ppl are getting a little dumber, noones rushing to buy their kid a tesla or anything else priced above 5k. nowadays its just run down camrys and hyundais....... i just picked up an 01 and an 06 both with less than 150k the 01 has a few cosmetic issues but has timing chains serviced, 06 is clean AF.....both were less than 5k each. freakin love the insurance on these tho. id have offered 3k for it if it was in my city when i was looking for an extra. highmiles being the reason.

Put your VIN in Edmund or Carfax and you'll get a value for sale to a dealership and private pay. If it's a 4.0 I don't think anyone will give you $7500. I have an 08 4.0 with 212k on the clock. Purrs, but I'm waiting for the guides to crap out at anytime.
Good luck.

@wjwolfe82, what part of Ohio u in? I’m basically due east of CLE in a suburb (Highland Heights) now. From Y-town originally.

Thx for the info! Will do. Nah, I’m going to list it here in my community for $4K. Someone familiar with it will buy it I’m pretty sure.
