Well I'd rather not have any hurricanes this season but if we get one and we lose power I am ready. Cleaned out the garage today arranging all my hurricane supplies; extension cords, 220v power plug to back feed the house, batteries and the new addition a portable A/C unit on wheels 10k BTU. I was just running it and man it gets cold. Is everyone else prepared?

I am ready too. I live west of the Appalachian Mountains, so that is a handy tool in keeping the Hurricane on the coast and away from me.

I'm ready in NW Ohio too!:D We sometimes get what's left as fall hurricanes tracking up through the Great Lakes, but the normal tornado/severe storm season is what we get ready for. Don't have a portable AC, but do have a generator for the house...enought to run refrig & freezer and a few lights.

Fast Eddie. I'm thinking about buying a generator also this year. Even though Rita never turned into a problem for us, it was close enough to get me worried. May even buy a small ac window unit.

15Kw generator that runs on propane. Impact windows and a brand new roof.

I tried the windows and generator out during last years storms. We ran on the generator for nearly 3 weeks. Ready to go. I pray that I don't have to use any of them.

If another Wilma comes Key West will become a ghost town- we always flee when ordered but if one is coming from the west again I am moving all cars to higher ground and putting the koi in a pond on the balcony. Marathon office Katrina damage still not fixed, farm in Homestead producing guavas again, but not many. Pool enclosure in Pembroke Pines still damaged.... but we have 2 Honda generators. Thought about going with a whole house unit, but if damage is so severe that power is out more than 3-4 days, we are going on vacation!

I've done complete PM's on both my Honda generators, just recently bought additional metal shutters (No more plywood yeah!!) and installed H headers for them all around the house to make it easy on-easy off. Wilma blew off my 12' x 4' hot water heater solar collector on the roof, so I replaced it, but this time I sweat on inlet/outlet quick disconnects as so I can lay the whole panel down and secure flat on the roof should we get a hurricane warning.

I have a new chain saw, but then again I don't have but one hardwood tree left on my property since Wilma...only palms are left now.

I took advantage of the no sales tax provision last week and bought stuff.
