well i got my line of fire light in today. and tried to mount it several diffrent ways. then i got the idea to put it on the bottom of the tail gate. it would not stick so my dumb self got a drill and drill holes and put screw to hold the light on it was all good untill i look at the bottom of the tail gate on the outside and i see four nice drilled holes all the way through. can`t see them unless you look at the bottom of the gate. now i got to find a way to cover them up and my my st look good again.

hdt,

I'm sure you heard of the rule: "Measure twice, cut once"....The same thing applies to drilling holes: "Look twice, drill once":grin:

I know you feel bad about that boo-boo, but it's all part of learning.

Perhaps you can still mount them there but use 3M double sided trim tape instead of drilling holes? Assuming the holes are rather small, you may be able to fill the holes, and use a dab on touch-up paint pen to hide the holes? Years ago, someone keyed the side of my leased 2001 Sport Trac about 2 months before the end of the lease period. I used one of those pens to cover that nasty scratch and to the casual observer (even the Ford inspector) you could not see it unless I pointed it out to you.

hdt, I just received this letter for help from your Trac. :eek:nline: It reads....

Ouch, Ouch, Ouch, Ooch. Please tell him to stop, it hurts and it's gonna cause my ass end to rust out prematurely. Please help me !!!!!

:cry::cry: :bwahaha::rofl:

Just kidding, that sucks man. What size holes did you drill? if you know someone with a welder you can fix it the best way by sanding down around the holes lightly and spot weld the holes to fill them in with metal, then sand down and paint over. You can use rattle can and make it look like factory if done right, I do it all the time.

When I mounted my line of fire I cleaned off the bottom back edge of the tailgate, used 3M emblem tapeall the way across and stuck it on, it stayed there for a couple years when the Pa. road salt found it's way to the circuit board and fried my line of fire.

Here's a picture of mine.
