Gary,

A green one of the same was our family car. Until I was 10. Flat head six. I helped dad do a valve job. Dad traded it for a '56 ford.

Didnt have the visor though or spotlight.

Thanks for the memory...

hey eddie,

what model /year is the one in the pic?.

do you think that was a factory colour?

i think it is an awesome lookin' ride

glad i brought you some good memories :haveabeer:

Gary,

Ours was a '49. From the dressing that maybe a '50 or '51. I can be wrong.

Not sure if it is oem color. I would hope so..worth more that way.

eddie,

thx for the info. i was in a rush a didn't see the owner around.

geeez, for being in that time frame that is one lookin' nice ride. :supercool:

Gary,

It looks like an old late 1940's Dodge, or perhaps even a Chrysler.

A neighbor of mine way back in the early 1960's had a Chrysler convertible with the woody sides that looked very similar to that vehicles styling (minus the wooden sides)...I am pretty sure it is a Chrylser product be it a Chrysler, Dodge, or perhaps even a Plymouth. I don't think it is a Desoto, because they were a little far out there in their styling, and that seems pretty conservative, which was the standard in that era.

Regardless, it is a very nice car...Wish it was mine...

gary s,

I have confirmed that your photo is of a 1949 Plymouth. The key is in the scalloped bumper faces. Here's another photo of a similar model.

That was what ours was '49 plymouth. It was a pukey light green color.

The '56 ford dad traded it for. Was 2 tone green. Wouldnt you know it. The lighter green was the same pukey green...LOL

Dad also had a '49 chevy truck. Same pukey green color...LOL

Knowing my dad. The pukey light green was not popular. He probably got the best deals..

That "pukey" light green color is the factory color on my '69 Cougar. Needless to say, I don't care to be 100% OEM.

rich,

thx for doin' my homework :haveabeer:

the only thing i did know that it was some type of chrysler product since it was parked outside a mopar car club show.

i wonder if that was a factory colour?

imo, a very NICE lookin' ride that you rarely see (if any at all).

wish i could have talked to the owner to learn more.

eddie,

bet you wish you had it now
