My maternal grandparents played Bluegrass music. Growing up in Kentucky I ran into quite a few folks like Jesco. Like you said, they are the great people, but don't "git them riled" when they've been drinking.

This was a production of http://www.appalshop.org/ from Whitesburg Kentucky. Different Drummer did a bunch of shows about strange people from Kentucky. My favorite was one about a prison warden named Warden Borden Bordenbecker (sp) He put dogs on the prison roof to keep the inmates from escaping ny getting on the roof.

Anyone know how to capture the video about Jesco White?

I have been in Kentucky all my life )67) years now. We do have some strange people here, but I have been to coastal Mississippi and have never seen anything like some of the people there.

My Dad's mother chewed tobacco and smoked a pipe. She only liked homemade twist tobacco and chewed and smoked it. I was scared to death of her.
