I had a 2001 Green ST and then traded that for a 03 Zinc Yellow St, which I loved. I ended up trading that on a 2006 Five Hudred. I recently had a car accident in the 500 and although it's not totaled . . . yet . . . I'm thinking of getting rid of it (when I finally get it back . . . IF I finally get it back (it's been since 5/10/07) . .. ) for another ST. I REALLY loved mine and I've regreated getting rid of it off and on since they day I did . . . however, since the accident and driving my husband's Blazer . . . I'm REALLY missing the whole SUV/SUT thing. I've been a little "out of touch" with the ST world. The last thing I did was drive a 07 V-8 when they first came out. The main reason I didn't get a ST over the 500 is that the color choices didn't really "do anything" for me (I guess yellow is a hard color to follow)? I know since then they've come out with the orange . . . but I think that's a color I need to see before I know if "does it" for me or not. Are they coming out with any other colors on the 08's? I know . . .I'm a few months early, but who knows how long it's going to take for the whole car mess to be settled (it's a long story, I'll go into it if someone REALLY wants me to).

*oh yeah, here's a link to the 500's sad picture*

Sounds like you are looking for someone.:lol: Just kidding! I had a Dodge K car that when I traded it in on a new Ford Aerostar it a a sticker on the back window that said, "I f this car was a horse I'd shoot it." I have a 01 ST that I bought new in July 2000 and I love it. I made the mistake of trying an 07, big improvement. I was hoping when I was T-boned about 3 months ago that they would total it, but they didn't. Good luck

Daisy,

Follow the link below for some information on the 2008 Sport Trac. You have had some bad luck with accidents. I hope there were no injuries.

I also miss having an SUV. I rented a Ford Escape last week while I was in the US. It was a lot of fun to sit up high again and the ride was very comfortable. Perhaps I will buy another SUV when I return. I couldn't afford to fill one up in Europe with the gas prices, but $40 in the US to fill an SUV looked really cheap compared to the $70+ I pay to fill my Mazda3 in Poland. :D

There were no major injuries. I had a minor case of whip lash, but that's it. When the lady (a 17 year old who just got her liscense a week before driving a newer Dodge Ram) hit me, she spun me completely around and back into the parking lot I was pulling out of. If I would have had my ST still, it probably woulda flipped over.

The reason I'm saying about the "not totaled . . . yet" and the "IF I finally get it back" is the dealer fixing my car kinda MISSED a step with my insurance company and didn't call for the approval for the additional repairs! The last I heard from the garage my engine block was cracked, my altenator went, my transmission was messed up, and some other engine problems . . . all of which my insurance company would have had to approve repairs on (re appraise it to make sure it didn't put it in the totaled catergory). Well . . . they didn't do that part! So . . . if I'm "stuck" with a car I've had for less than a year with this sort of damage, I am NOT keeping it . . . and I am fighting the garage for not following the way they were supposed to do things that put me in such a car (it most likely would have been totaled).

Nelson,

I understand how you feel. I have the option to drive two different vehicles. One is my Trac (my wifes Explorer is the same type of vehicle) and my Escort GT. While the EGT is a blast to drive, it does not have the comfort of an SUV. Sure the EGT has very comfortable seats, power windows/locks, AC, etc. the headlights in the back of my head all the time, not being able to see, and having to worry about chuckholes is not worth the savings in gas over driving the Trac.

I had a 2001 mandarin gold(orange) ST. I now have the 2007 Limited in mineral gray. If it helps at all, I have seen the orange frost. The color is a metallic but to me it is sort of a flat orange. You might say a little darker than a dreamsicle color. I bought the mineral gray over the dark cherry metallic becuase it does not show dirt as much as a dark color. I know how long it takes to get your car fixed. My wife had been in two rear end collisions(not her fault)and it took about two to three years to get them settled. My attorney is my cousin and my godfather.
