Trying to figure out how to adjust the setting on my ipod nano so it can output video to an external device, in this case my head unit. When I try to play a movie/video on my head unit off of the ipod, only the sound comes through...no picture.

My ipod manual is nowhere to be found, and I went through all the ipod setting menus and cannot find which one to tweak in order to get this to work.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Mahalos in advance, Keola...

Yeah...

That's the first thing I did, still no picture...

Tried that last night...I'll go out and try that again, maybe second time's the charm

I forgot to mention...

The tv out setting does not allow me to switch it on...I scroll to the option and click and nothing happens, remains off.

Is something on the ipod locked maybe?

It will not work the cable does not have the stupid Apple Authentication chip on it. I have an Ipod classic hooked to a Pioneer D3 and the only way video works is with one firmware which is 1.02. Otherwise its a no go. I don't know of any firmwares for the nano.

Thanks Evan,

This is one of the reasons why I'm not a huge fan of the ipod. I got this one as a gift even though I was perfectly happy with my trusty sandisk sansa...

I think I'll just stick to the music/movie dvds if I want to watch stuff :D

I want to edit my last post their is another possibility if you purchase apples A/V cable it will work. I don't know what radio you have but as long as it has A/V input you will be able to pass video and audio just won't be able to control it from the radio.
