K&N oil filters

A follow up to Trac511's post below. About $15 K&N.

I just found out that a shop in my town. Called Competition sales.

They sell the K&N for $8. My sujestion is maybe check with you local performance shop.

You might find a better price.

Are K&N oil filters like the K&N air filters? Do they last for the advertized 1 million

miles, if maintained properly? Or is it a 15$ filter that has to be changed every

5-10K miles?:grin:

K&N oil filters are to be changed as any other oil change. They are good to for use with longer term oil changes.

They have a syn media that traps finer particles than you run of the mill filters. Mobil1 filters are the same level and price. there are few others.

Mobil 1 and K&N are probably the most popular premium filters.

If you do 5k oil changes. Use the tried and prooved motorcraft.

I do 10k full syn oil changes. So I buy a better filter.

I catch my castrol full-syn oil an sale @ advance. $27 with a free K&N filter.
