Sorry all, nothing as major as last time, just a question. Is it possible to get my e-mails and such off a disk I made of everything before doing a reboot? I save my Outlook Express files and such before doing it. It's not a real big deal but some of the files had saved receipts from my e-bay and crap like that. If not it's not to big of a deal.;)

If you have the .dbx files from the Outlook Express store folder all you have to do is copy them into the current Outlook Express store folder and your all set.

The store folder can be found in Outlook Express by going to:

tools/options/maintainence/store folder

I assume you mean before doing a rebuild, not a reboot.

And, that depends on the type of rebuild you do. If you totally reformat, you will want to export your Outlook Express (OE) files to a data CD, then import them later.

As for exporting, when within OE look under the File menu and you will see "Export", and it has two choices; "Address Book" and "Messages". Just set the destination of the export files to your CD-ROM drive with a blank, writable CD within.

You may want to look at the online help, but I am pretty sure that is how you do it. Then, to import once you have a fresh install, reverse the process and select import...

(just saw Bruce's post....he beat my by a minute. That's not a bad way to go either. Both should work).

Bruce, I think they are the .dbx files. What I did was copy my Identitiy from the admin area on my computer. (it had outlook express inside with all the data files)

TJR, Thanks, I always wondered what those files on there were for. I'll be sure and do that the next time. I appreciate it.;)
