I'm a coin collector. I visited a coin shop in Minneapolis in 1990 to see what he had. It was a small, one-man shop. I asked if he had any bags (5000 coins) of Wheat pennies. He had one that weighed 38 pounds and said he'd sell it to me for $100. That was a steal. He said he'd been tossing pennies in there since 1960. I looked through a few of the coins and found Indian head pennies, steel 1943 pennies, and lots of coins dated in the 1920's and 1920's. I packed it away in a closet and rediscovered it a few weeks ago. 38 pounds of pennies amounts to 6300+ coins.
Now, I'm selling them in rolls on ebay for $5 each. I have a feeling I'm going to get to know the post office quite intimately in the next few days.
