Have a chance to buy a folding oem tonneau cover off someone in my area, but he failed to remove the brackets from his ST when he sold it. I can get it cheap but can I get the brackets anywhere :O)

Brackets from the dealer are under $100 from what I've read on here. I have gotten a couple sets from wrecked Tracs in the salvage yards.

Funny, I was at this place in Jacksonville called Rusty Acres and they just got a sport trac in with a busted factory folding cap. I am sure they would sell you the brackets for cheap. Here is the info:

Rusty Acres Automotive Inc

www.raafordparts.com

1932 Lane Avenue North

Jacksonville, FL 32254-1528

(904) 786-1777

Thanks for the leads, I havent called yet as the guy that is selling the cover still wants $400 without the brackets, so I am still looking for a better deal :O)

So I pose this question to everyone..... do you think $400 is too much for the cover without the brackets and screws from this guy selling it near me?

Based on sales that occur here, $300 w/o the brackets seems to be the going price. $400 w/ brackets would be fair. The one area you save is if no shipping is involved, it can get expensive.

$400 w/o brackets is too high, but like everything else, it depends on how motivated the seller is. $300 with a key and working locks is more reasonable. I got lucky and paid $200 for an OEM cover in good condition w/o brackets 2 weeks ago. It was local so no shipping, but I will need to get the locks rekeyed and maybe repaired.
