Aloha Y'all

I make DVDs of the Sunday sermons. On occasion, people tell me that the DVD stops during the sermon. Last night, I viewed the DVD and it looked like a TV picture from a satellite. (Stops momentarily and the picture is jumbled then starts again). A little later on, it seemed to skip about 0.25 second. I could still understand the word but it was stunted. This doesn't occur where I have edited anywhere so I am thinking hardware! I buy Memorex blanks, 100 for $19.95. Do you guys think cheep blanks could cause this? Any other thoughts? God and the congregation will be thankful for any help.

God bless Ed

Im no expert at all.

I would think hardware. Something about the laser stumbling at a certain point, in the tracking movement.

Have you tried a different dvd brand blank? Just to make sure you didnt get a bad batch.

is the skip in the same place all the time for that particular disk?

On other disks you make, is the skip or pixelation at different times from the first, but the same spot on that disk each time you play it?

it could be that when recording to the disk, the memory buffer on the computer is being maxed.. it may be resolved by adding memory (RAM) to your computer that burns the disks.

Thanks guys,

I think that I found it! The writer was set to 8X and the software wants 4X or less. I am redoing them all tonight so I'll know soon.

We all thank you Ed
