Anyone know how the Zune will interface w/ other audio equipment in vehicle? Is it the same as an IPOD, and will IPOD adapters and inputs worth with the ZUNE?

Zune will more than likely OWN an IPOD very soon :)

For those that do not know....

I have a zen vision I bought on ebay right before they came out for 269$ Had it shipped to Iraq with an extra battery. I love that thing. I use it now as a juke box in the truck and what not. It's great. Check out the Zen Vision before anything else!

Nope...no wireless with the Zen. I haven't heard much good stuff about the Zune wireless support, other than it synchs Zune to Zune which means it takes two to tango which is costly.

One review said it "amounts to a hill of beans", read on...

Nothing but bad reviews (previews) so far for the Zune. The wireless had so much potential and microsoft crippled it by making it so that if you transfer a song to a friend's Zune it is only playable for three days and then it self destructs. On top of that, the "plays for sure" wma format that Microsoft has been pushing the last few years is no longer supported, so if you bought any songs off of Walmart or Napster they won't be playable with the Zune.

Wikipedia has a great summary of it: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zune

I love my Zen Vision...built a AV interface cable to hook it back into my Home av system this weekend and I just ordered the AUX audio input adapter with RCA inputs for my Pioneer deh-7400mp head unit in the trac..

As Apple is the direct competiton for the Zune, I highly doubt MicroSoft would make it so that existing 3rd party periphials would work. One more way to make that extra dollar is to make things proprietary and you can own the market share of accessories until 3rd party can catch up.

I don't think this version of Zune will amount to much. Sure, some of the things are better then Apple, or others, but the limitations may be its downfall. However, the second or third gen Zune will probably be much better then Gen 1 and carve out a significant chunk in the dominance that is Apple iPod.
