Mileage light turns on and off

I've noticed the light that illuminates my total mileage/trip odometer turns on and off. Some days I can see my mileage just fine, others not at all. Could this be a faulty light bulb in the dashboard, faulty fuse? Anyone have this problem and know how to fix it? Thanks!

IMO, The backlight is loose or going out. Either way you will have to pull the instrument cluster.

I have had the same problem with my 2004. I have pulled the instrument cluster, replaced bulbs, examined the soldered joints also. I think it is a problem with the module itself. Everything else works fine. 140k miles.
