I second that R Shek. Luckily here in FL they passed a bill (or law?) that if you feel threatened you can now shoot first and ask second. At least Jeb is good for something.

Heck I remember last year during our slew of hurricanes, our mayor, govenor, and cheif of police got on the news, radio, etc, 3 or 4 days before the storms and simply said "if you choose to not evacuate, you stay in your home until we say you can come out or you get arrested. If you act like a fool, you will be arrested. If you loot, we will shoot". I suspect they'll have that press conference again here in a few days. I say to all those idiots out there "BRING IT B*&$%!"

Is there any chance that we can resurrect Grover Cleveland and re-elect him as president in 2008? That's the kind of President we NEED! Instead, we're probably going to get Hillary Clinton...and watch the "general welfare" spending ramp up to unprecedented levels! That's a whole other argument though, and totally unrelated to the current thread. Grover Cleveland would be VERY good for the country right about now. Maybe he could teach people something about personal responsibility. Everyone is too afraid of offending people now. There is no such thing as personal responsibility in many American communities anymore. Everyone expects the government to take care of every little problem that comes along...even if it's the person's fault. I don't think "general welfare" in the constitution was intended to cover the 42" plasma screen that you think you are entitled to, nor is it intended to buy you a new house or repay you because you did something STUPID.

What in the hell was that guy in the video above THINKING?!? The level of ignorance on tv never ceases to amaze me. I watched fox quite a bit during the hurricane coverage, but I missed that particular interview. My blood was brought to a boil quite a few times during the days after Katrina.

As for that law in Florida about shoot first, ask questions second...it should be that way in every city and town in the USA. If you cannot feel safe in your own home, where CAN you feel safe? A man (or woman) should be given every opportunity to protect his home and family. There are WAY too many laws set up to give criminals rights. It is my personal belief that criminals don't DESERVE a special set of rights. Jail isn't supposed to be cable TV, good food and comfortable. Yet we have dozens of lawsuits filed every single day about these very things, which clog up our legal system. I'll be generous and give an inmate ONE complaint per year. Once they use that up, they're SOL. The rest of the year, they need to shut their mouth, sit there on their cold, concrete floor and THINK about what they did and how STUPID that was. Here in Missouri, if you shoot someone and they don't have a gun or knife and you can't prove that you were in danger (which is exceedingly hard), you're going to jail...even if you DID feel threatened because some idiot acted like he had a gun. If he had his finger in his pocket, in the shape of a gun, you're going away for a while. It's sad and WRONG. Send Jeb to Missouri when you're done with him, we could use a law like yours. ;)

Anyway, I'd better stop before I get too riled up. hehe

You can't have ANYTHING that's dedicated to or marketed toward white people anymore. Speaking of marketing, there was a phone company commercial about commitment on tv a while back, some of you may have seen it. Originally, they had a black guy saying "I can't even SPELL commitment"...which was just part of the commercial, since people were saying how much trouble they had with commitments. Anyway, the NAACP threw a HUGE fit since the guy was black, they said that it makes all black people look ignorant, so they filed a lawsuit. Now, there is a white guy saying "I can't even spell commitment". Do we have any lawyers here at mysporttrac.com? I'm pretty sure I look stupider to the general public since some other white guy said he can't spell "commitment".

The stupidity is spreading.

I cannot believe some of the things you people are doing and saying. Yes there is a policy of reverse racism in this country. Yes there is a serious problem regarding the division of peoples. But does that mean we sit around here and point fingers? Do we play the racist card? Do we take this as an "us angainst them" stand?

Just see this for what it is...a Pendulum swing. Black people (actuall all non-white) have endured systematic racism, endemic across most of western Eurpope and into the American colonies, dating back to the Early 1500's. The Brits even enslaved the dogs of Ireland (my ancestors).

Will racism ever be stamped out? Not likely, but I know so many people of color who are as sick as you all of the racism being levied against white people. Farrakhan speaks for only those who are completely disenfranchised, mostly by their own doing.

Give this some time to work out. Don't contribute to the problem by taking a stand against people of color. Don't be the cause of reverse racism.

I'm not taking a stand against people of color, I'm taking a stand against all stupid people who think that Rioting is them getting what they are owed. The church I go to is probably 60-40 Black-White. Some of the best people I know happen to be black.

Maybe it's just the media trying to hype things up, but none of the coverage of the looting in New Orleans, Los Angeles or Toledo showed more than a handful of "non-black" individuals. It's my OPINION that if the black population of this country wants to be thought of more than welfare recipients, winers and cry babies by the general public (yes, this is a generalized statement, I am well aware of the fact that the conditions listed are a general minority of the population) and if they want to have meaningful dialog to eliminate any residual discriminatory policies, the intellectuals need to stand up and say "enough".

When you have "leaders" like Sharpton, Jackson, Schumer, and Farakkkahn it's no wonder that the "non-blacks" are starting to rteally resent everything that's going on. It would be like all Christians being represented by the likes of David Koresh and Jerry Jones. Total whako's. It would be like all of the whites out there being represented by people like Robert Byrd (former grand master of the KKK) and David Duke (Former Grand Dragon of the KKK).

Give this some time to work out? Gimme a break. There needs to be a change of the "leadership" of the black population of this country. There isn't "leader" of the white population, so why do the blacks need one? This is a lot like what happens with Unions and Management. Unions breed distrust of management by labor and the management distrusts the Unions. Everyone looses. These leaders of the black population are breeding distrust of the white man by blacks and is causing resentment by whites of blacks.

Leaders/spokespeople

Just in case you didn't realize (I know you do) we live in a democratic republic. This means as a society, we either select or rally behind people who we feel have a representative voice for us. This carries beyond the realm of the executive or legislative branch of government. Like you stated, we need a voice to represent our labor issues, or social issues, or religious issues and our human rights issues.

The problem in this case is that we have a group of people who have historically been oppressed by another group of people. As time wore on, the oppression subsided considerably, leaving a defeatist mentality with an awfullyu large segment of that group. Opportunistic predators have arisen from within, took advantage of the defeatists and rallied them to a cause that seeks only to line the pocketbooks of those predators.

What is disconcerting is that not one of the lefty, human rights-minded activists take caution in the words spoken by these predatory, reverse-racist inciters. In fact, they are applauded.

When I say that in time, this will work itself out...I meant that there will be real leaders who will rise up and take a stand, both from within that group and from the rest of society, to lend real help to the defeatist people. It will take a generation for the welfare-riders and the crack-dealers to be weeded from their society.

Didn't one already attempt to rise up and take a stand and lead in a positve, helpful manner? But then Dr. King was assassinated. And when Malcolm X tried changed his outlook and tried to lead in a more positive manner, he too was assassinated. And Dr. King's protege, Jesse Jackson was just plain corrupted by vanity, money, and power.
