In 2008 I had a little over 60k miles on my trac and that "O/D OFF light of death" started blinking. I took it in to the shop and 800 dollars later I was back on the road. They had replaced the valve body. Today I picked up my truck from the same transmission shop because I had to get the transmission rebuilt. The truck now has a little over 116k miles on it. I paid a little over 2400 and I got a 3 year/50k mile warranty with it. Hopefully I won't have to do any more major work on this truck. It has been a good vehicle for me.

I also installed my tonneau cover today. While the truck was in the shop I had gotten the strikers and a key made for the locks. Everything is on fine but it seems like the cables near the tailgate have some slack since the key won't unlock. When I turn the key I do see the cables moving, but not enough. I may just follow this project for a temporary fix: http://mysporttrac.com/shared/projects.asp?VIEW=316&WRENCHES=1&PageHeader=Member%20Projects Is there a way to tighten up those cables or am I in need of new ones?

This one is a little more involved, but it's super convenient. I used vinyl coated cable, from OSH, and added bicycle brake adjusters.
