Mystery connector

I am in the process of installing a rear view backup camera. I've just finished routing the wires through the headliner and down through the back pillar.



On a Gen 1, if you open the compartment behind the rear seat and pull back the lining, there is a spare connector plugged into a dummy plastic mount.



Does anybody know what this spare connector is for? I'd like to use it for power to the camera if possible.



BTW, I picked up the rear view/mirror camera from a flea market for $15. Brand new and unused. It's one of these:

Probably the connector for the optional rear subwoofer, as it would've been installed in the driver's side compartment.

That'd be my guess, too.



Does the camera turn on when in reverse?
