I am in the process of installing a rear view backup camera. I've just finished routing the wires through the headliner and down through the back pillar.
On a Gen 1, if you open the compartment behind the rear seat and pull back the lining, there is a spare connector plugged into a dummy plastic mount.
Does anybody know what this spare connector is for? I'd like to use it for power to the camera if possible.
BTW, I picked up the rear view/mirror camera from a flea market for $15. Brand new and unused. It's one of these:
