I avoid it. You won't find me doing it at all. It detracts from your argument and is typically the last resort of someone who feels their argument can't hold water.



But, unfortunatly, it is also used on a routine basis. Personally I hate it when people use these:



Obummer (or anything other than Obama or, I would prefer and try to keep to 'President Obama')



Libtard: Really? That's the best someone can do?



People think they are being clever but in reality it causes the reader to kind of gloss over what they are saying.
