That said, we have a Regal 1800 LSR with the same engine & outdrive and have never lacked for power. The "lady" literally jumps out of the hole when it's time to get going (although some of the quick plaining can be attributed to the FastTrac Hull).
You were smart to go with the longer and heavier boat, especially if you're going to be out on large bodies of water. We live 30 miles inland from the Atlantic ocean and sometimes get beat up pretty bad by chop, which is stirred up by the afternoon sea breeze.
