New door speakers

I plan to install new speakers this weekend. Can anybody tell me how to tell negitave from positive on the old speaker wires? It may not be a problem, but I want to be sure before I start.:unsure:

I forgot to mention, this is a 01 ST.

Just order a wiring harness so you can plug right in. One lead will be bigger than the other on the speaker, and the other end will have a connector to the factory wiring.



Check out Crutchfield... they include them free with a speaker purchase, but I think they sell them as well.

It is not that hard to install the speakers in your door at all took me like an hour to do all four in mine.. also it is pretty easy to identify the wires.. if you cant figure it out just figure out which one is the hot wire and that should be your positive one...

Thanks Guys. I did order the wiring kit with the speakers from Cruthfield so I should be OK.

If you place the speaker face down with the leads down.

If you facing the leads the right is positive. or larger one.
