Hello All,

This is my first post as my "new to me" '07 Ltd, will be picked up this afternoon! This will be my first Sport Trac.

I've got the week off and want to do a couple of projects before I go back to work. I've used the search function and read through a bunch of old posts on this but didn't see my question answered for an '07 model. Does the stock radio have inputs in the back to directly hook up my iPod? How about the satellite radio connection? Could that be used?

Also, where is the stock sub-woofer located in the vehicle? I don't believe mine has it, but I've got some old stereo equipment around that I may try to install.

Thanks for any help.

Ken

Welcome to the site Ken,

I have an '07 Limited and my jack hookup for the Ipod is located down on the console next to the 12vdc socket.

I don't know about the LTD if it has one or not. I'm sure you will hear from someone that does.

Hi, Ken. Welcome to the best forum on the net. Not sure about your ipod question.

I have a 2002 Sport Trac and the sub is under the passenger seat in the back of the driver.

Welcome !!!

Good luck with the truck..

If your Truck is an early build date it does not have the I pod adapter built in the truck..

Even if it has it, it's nothing but a headphone jack.

Peripheral has a good adapter. Look into it. I have it.

The problem with the factory IPod jack is that the MP3 player does not put out enough power to play at a decent volume through the factory stereo. You will end up with your volume maxed out just to hear it. Get an adapter kit or an inline booster like the "Boosteroo". I use a Pioneer Inno XM receiver/MP3 with a built in FM modulator and have no volume issues at all. Had the same issue with my Ford Freestyle (hate to admit I ever owned a station wagon).

Thanks all. I had the new vehicle delivered this afternoon with a couple of issues that I need to work out from the dealership. Unfortunately I purchased from a dealership about 4 hours away and went with blind trust that everything would be OK. Otherwise I spent most of the afternoon cleaning it up and taking a test drive. My standards of "clean" must certainly be higher than others.

I do have an early build date, which I knew before buying, so apparently I don't have the input jack. I was pleasantly surprised that I do have the sub woofer already built in. Neither were make or break decisions for me and with the scarcity of available used Sport Tracs in the Detroit area, I didn't have a lot to choose from.

Thanks for the suggestions on the iPod. I'm going to have to check something out.

Ken
