Just bought the new pioneer FH-P800BT. It is a double din unit with built in bluetooth. Cant wait to get it installed! Does anyone else have this unit in their sport trac? If so, where did you mount the mic? I think i will try to mount it where the power outlet is just to the left of the radio, because I never use it anyway.

Looks very nice! Please update with pics when you get it installed. Does it have any auxiliary inputs besides the USB for the iPod?

I will update with pics and try to take a few as I install it. I should be getting it later this week, and might not get to installing it for another week due to vacation, but i will post up some for sure when i get it all in.

Very nice unit.

A good quality Double DIN CD Receiver is hard to find. I looked for quite some time about a year ago and ended up with a single DIN unit that I love, but I would rather it fill the whole space.

I think it will look fantastic hooked up and running, especially at night. And the sound will be even better!

Good choice.

If you don't mind me asking, did you pay MSRP of $350 or did you find it for less?

Are you prepared to bore out your dash bezel with a dremel?

Hmm, wasn't aware that this was needed, but is it a drastic amount? Does anyone have pics of how much material needs to be removed?

Sure, I bought it from an ebay store for $256 shipped. I still have not received it, but I just bought it on Monday and will give it a few more days before I start bugging them for a tracking number.

Sounds like a good deal.

Not an eBay fan, but I'm hoping it works out alright.

Keep us posted. I've very interested in the outcome.

I actually bought one of these too so I have the same questions about where to put the microphone. I'm planning to install it tonight. I also go the HD module to go with it so I have to figure out where to put it.

I just installed a new Pioneer Avic-Z3 in my Trac. I did not have to drill, cut or otherwise mutilate my dash to get it in. As for the mic, I ran it up one of the front pillars above the headliner to where the overhead console is, then I stubbed it out on the drivers side as close to the drivers head as possible. I have found that this works great, have had no problems with the voice activated Nav understanding me, and no problems with people hearing me when using the bluetooth. By the way I also bought all of my stereo equipment, (head unit, amps, speakers, even the install parts), on eBay. It saved my a ton of money. I was able to buy all of the components and have them installed for about the same price that a local shop wanted to charge me for just the head unit!

where did you mount the mic?

For mounting the mike, how about that little mystery vent just to the right of the center bezel. I don't think there's anything back there.
