New stereo...New issue..

I put in a new stereo and it works fine new speakers too... But now when i go to start my truck everything turns on fine except the engine wont turn over, or anything.... I have to open the hood, unhook the Negative from the battery wait a few seconds, replace the Neg. then the truck will start... Suggestions??

From your description, it sounds like the factory auto theft system has disabled the ignition system.

Did you have a professional install the new stereo? If so, take it back there. If you installed it yourself, you might need to check those install instructions again to see it there is any mention in them about factory security concerns.

i installed it myself... so the security system can disable the ignition system? didnt see anything about security concerns... how do i reset the anti theft system?
