Putting a new stereo in the boat. And man has it turned into way bigger job than I anticipated. The directions (what little there are) are horrible! anyways here's my question. There are 2 hotwires coming out of the new stereo.....according to the directions, one should go to a hotwire that is only hot when the key is turned on, and one should go to a constant hot wire. I'm assuming it's so the radio will keep time correctly? It doesn't say. Anyway.. My boat only a "constant hotwire" on the "stereo side" of the boat, and plus I always unhook my battery once I'm home. So Can I just run both of those wires to the same constant hotwire or will this mess something else up? Or could I just cap off the extra hot wire and be done with it? Not concerned about the "keeping correct time" thing. Thanks for any advice

Hook both to a 12 volt and be done with it. Won't keep time or memory or any of that but will work fine..

You should have, red and yellow to 12 volt, and a black ground.. and speaker wires.
