Hi.

Got noise from my tires...when I start decelerating from about 50mph (with or without brakes), I get the "big tires on a lifted truck noise". Wah, wah, wah. Kind of a deep sound. Gets worse a bit when I turn at the same time.

Tires are Firestone, I think...I can check later. Pretty new looking...lots of tread...inflated properly.

Truck doesn't pull, alignment "seems" ok.

Any thoughts how to correct?

Also get lots of wind noise...do those window vent shade things make a good bit of noise? Would it get more quiet if I took them off?

thanks in advance,

jd

:D

I don't see any cupping...tires actually look pretty good.

Bearings...? Sorry, I'm not experienced at auto repair. Not sure what/where they are.

Could what sounds like tire noise be bearings?

truck has 80k miles on it, if that makes a difference. 2WD also.

thanks!

Sounds like tires, bearings or a low fluid level in the rearend...

A tire could be going bad

Sorry, should have added the noise seems to be coming from the front tires mostly.

Is there a way to "check" bearings?

Sorry if thats a really stupid question!

If it is from the fronts, Rub your hand across the tire, It sounds like they are cupped to me.

Rotate the tires front to back and if the noise goes away, the tires are cupped...

Ok, i'll check tonite on cupping.

thanks!

by the way, OH MY your green fog lights on your other post look freaking incredible!
