Just a post on a little information and my confussion: I am in a slow process of updating my audio system. I have retained the OEM 6 disc but have added the OEM sub woofer, and 600W memphis amp and changed the speakers to alpines and infinity. During this never ending process, I removed the OEM radio and got the cd error alarm upon reinstall. I took the ST to the dealer and they replaced the radio. I had added a wood dash kit, and they did not change the radio bezel when they swaped the radio's out. I contacted the radio service company that had done the exchange and they said they would change for me. I did this yesterday, so here comes the confusion. The tech at the radio service company during the exchange, fliped and turned and rotated the unit in all directions, and reinstalled. No problems on reinstall. Many threads on this email have stated information on safe handling of this unit. I asked him and he said other then not dropping or shaking hard, it should effect its operatiion. My radio had not CD's installed during this service.

He got lucky, The new radio is better built than the old one...

Could just be something electrical that burns out when you disconnect it a certain way...

The ST's 4wd module is known for burning up when you change the battery....

I just think it is faulty parts or the people doing the service..
