Oil Change Message

I've had an oil change done on my 2007 sport trac and shortly afterwards the OIL CHANGE REQUIRED message has popped up. How do i reset this?

Look in the owners guide.

Take it back to the dealer and tell them to finish the work of changing the oil (and resetting the message).

I looked through the guide, but to either missed it or it wasn't there. Actually I think I had my brother look through it, (I was driving) so maybe he's just a knucklehead.



I have a friend whos a mech at a VW dealer and he did the change, so no luck at the dealer.

I just reset mine a week ago when I changed my oil. It's in the Manual, maybe around page 70 something. You have to look for it, but it's there.



I'll go look if you can't find it. I ahve an '07 also.

1. Select this function from the

SETUP MENU for the current

display mode.

2. Press and hold the

SELECT/RESET control switch to

reset oil change.

3. Press the SELECT/RESET control switch for the next SETUP MENU

item or wait for more than 4 seconds to return to the INFO MENU.

Note: Oil Life Start Value of 100% equals 5,000 miles (8,000 km) or

180 days. For example, setting Oil Life Start Value to 60% sets the Oil

Life Start Value to 3,000 miles (4,828 km) and 120 days.
