This is my first post. I have an interesting situation happening with my 2002 ST. After driving a while with the air conditioning on I will come to a stop. Then the oil pressure gauge will just start flicking back-and-forth violently. If I turn the air conditioning blower switch down lower it flicks less violently. This will only happen when the car has been running for quite a while. If I stop the car and it sets for a few minutes. The gauge goes back to normal any ideas on this.

Maybe a bad connection on the sending unit. I think that it is not so much a gauge but an idiot switch. If the connection is sound, replace the switch.

Good luck Ed

Don't forget the obvious potentially disastrous possibility: Make sure the oil level has not dropped too low and the pump is sucking air.

I keep good tabs on the oil and it's never low. I'm betting it's the pressure sending unit. If anybody has any step-by-step son best way to access it i.e. panels to be removed with pictures would be great. Thanks for all the help

Update on the situation I replaced the oil pressure sensor and it seems to have fixed the problem but what a pain in the but it was getting the sensor connector disconnected
