Considering there has been joking, etc. about this lately, I thought I'd share:

For IE, use ieSpell: http://www.iespell.com/

For Firefox 1.5+, use Spellbound: http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?t=351130 (Read some of the posts to learn how to install the extension as well as the correct 'dictionary.')

Enjoy.

Do you really think that these people invoved in this worthless agruement would really understand or be interested in not on taking your suggestion, but accually go to the site and install this correctly? Just my 2 cents worth,,,,,,,,,,,good entry, though,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Mark

Guys, it isn't the spelling. You could say you are having trouble with your breaks and we know what you are trying to say, even though your vehicle does not have breaks, but actually brakes. A spell checker won't know the difference since both "Breaks" and "Brakes" are spelled correctly.

Saying the same thing I just said without a period once in a while does make it hard to decipher. Like this...

People mess all kinds of words up. Tunnel cover instead of a tonneau cover, 2x4 instead of a 4x2, and Sport Track instead of a Sport Trac. We can read past those mistakes. I don't care of they say four instead of for, or say to instead of too or two. Pitcher instead of Picture. "Look at my new pitchers I uploaded!" We know what they mean. Typing a whole paragraph without using one period, exclamation point, or question mark makes it almost impossible to know what the person is actually trying to say or ask. When it is a question or a statement? Without a period or a question mark, we really don't know.

It doesn't have to be perfect to get a question answered or a problem solved, we just need to know what the actual question or problem is to answer correctly. None of us here are paid to help others. We shouldn't have to read, then re-read the post to understand what the purpose of the post is all about.

There are a few that will make a big deal out of spelling a word wrong, but the wrong word doesn't make a post impossible to understand. That doesn't mean if you say that you hear a grinding noise coming from your brakes when you have the radio on that you are having trouble with your brakes. The problem is in your radio and has nothing to do with the braking system. That throws the reader off when trying to help someone solve a problem...or prolem as some people might type, but we know what they were trying to say.

I agree with Tom that spelling really has nothing to do with grammar and punctuation. Some of the posts are very difficult to read at best. I do have installed the ieSpell programs and have for 2 years now. It is a very nice feature and super easy to use. I strongly recommend it.

Just basic punctuation would help out in most cases.

Use Opera as your browser like I do. Best browser out there. It has a built-in spell checker.

I'm happy with my Google tool bar that has G search, pop-up blocker, spell check, auto link and auto fill. Very helpful. Just mtc worth.
