The Snickers ad was OK--but the best one IMHO was the one for the Late Show with David Letterman, with him and Oprah on the couch together. Admittedly, people who don't watch the show might not have gotten or appreciated the ad--but those of us who do watch Letterman thought it was a riot!

BUMP!

As I said, the gay community seems "NOT" to be celebrating the Snickers commercial.

GLAAD called for it to be removed from websites and not re-aired, and it seems that Mars has folded.

It seems GLAAD is a little confused. They want to ban a commercial that points out the absurdity of homophobia. I guess I don't get their agenda at all.

Really. Seems minorities and special interests regard anything other than direct promotion of their agenda as an insult. Political correctness will be the death of humor in this country. This is why Saturday Night Live is rarely funny any more.

JohnnyO you are right to a certain point, but when things get a little carried away with the joking, were do you draw the line? I mean is it ok to come out with the blackface sambo

stuff that was quite funny at one point in our recent past? It seems to me there are 2 side to every story and some things gotta be limited or else they get carried away and the joke is blurred

I'm just saying that people are way too sensitive these days. Get an SNL video from 25 or 30 years ago, heck, most of that stuff either wouldn't make it on or people would be rioting in the streets.

There is no "right not to be offended" in the Constitution, regardless of what Maxine Waters says.

It's funny I see lots of racial humor on TV these days on a variety of shows. Many new shows highlight stereotypes for example Dave Chappell..... It's funny yea but it can go a little too far at times and even he himself had to draw the line of being funny and becoming a mockery.

I do see a lot of black/latino shows being a little more libral with the racial humor because it's easier and more acceptable at this time to make fun of yourself, but other shows make cracks too which are fine. Again it's a thin line that in the past was not done in such a way to not be offensive....
