Before I joined the military, I worked with a lot of gay and lesbian people.

Actually, I suspect that you still work with a lot of gay and lesbian people--you just don't know it because of the whole "don't ask-don't tell" thing...

I absolutly love Boston Legal. Great show. Very funny with a serious side. I do not like the political overtones at times, but it is nice to hear what they have to say.

I have heard William Shatner is going to leave the show, but it would not be the same without him.

I am working in NATO, and some of the other countries allow openly gay members. I know I work with them. As you said, there are some in the US military as well. I've known a few, but as long as they don't cause any issues, they are mostly tolerated. It is sort of like the rule about adultery. People will turn a blind eye, unless it becomes an issue at work.

Just a note to say I am impressed with the mentallity of how people are handling this post.

It had/has great potential to become a very negitive post.

Keep it objective and continue to respect the thoughts of others. I am betting the administrators are watching htis one, it could be gone with a key stroke... LOL

Is homosexuality a gene or a life style ? I don't know ! If it is a gene or a life style so be it. At least homosexuals don't try to convert me like Baptist, Jehovah witnesses or Catholics. The few Gays I know are very nice polite and amusing people unlike some of my straight friends. I have the redneck gene and have to endure all the jokes and finger pointing that goes along with it. I think people are different and lifestyle are different. Deal with it.

Not that there's anything wrong with that. I've had gay friends and worked with gay people, for me it's not an issue. One supervisor I had years ago, a lot of people didn't like him because he was openly gay, I didn't like him simply because he was an idiot. Gay had nothing to do with it.

Probably some gay jeans at The Gap in San Francisco or Greenwich Village.

sorry, couldn't resist. j/k

I caught the redneck gene about 10 years ago. After several years of trying to listen to popular music, I could no longer stomach the rap and hip-hop crap, and I switched to country. Sweet Home Alabama still sends shivers up my spine too.

I wonder if music on the radio can cause genetic changes?

Well, it ain't Rap or Hip-Hop!

Notice how country music stations are playing Eagles music? Today's country includes a lot of what used to be Pop/Rock music.

Sure, I like Classic Rock, Southern Rock, and Country.

Gay jeans - I would say if a guy was wearing Jordache....gay.

Oh, gay GENES..."nether mind."

p.s. Fans of SNL and Emily Nitella (sp?) you get it.

As a left-hander, I have suffered much discrimination and trouble in life--things that I didn't even realize until it was pointed out to me that made my life a little more difficult.

Gavin - I want to hear more about this, please start a post.
