Has anyone else had any problems with their paint on their radio bezels chipping? Mine is chipping around the back window button and under the radio and cig lighter.

A very definite YES. Many people have. I ended up taking mine off and removing all the paint. It left it a shiny grey. They can be repainted or there are woodgrained kits available......

I had two of these bezels replaced on my '02 ST, and so far have had one replaced on my '04 ST. Here's the TSB info:

Component Description: 12. STRUCTURE

Bulletin Number: 17647

Bulletin Date: 01 March 2004

Vehicle: 2004 FORD EXPLORER SPORT TRAC

Summary:

PAINT PEELING AND/OR BUBBLING ON THE CENTER FINISH PANEL OF THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. *TT

yeah, I got mine replaced a couple of months back covered by my warranty. The new one doesn't have that rubbery texture to it, so I know it won't peel like the old one did. Hurray for warranties!

How long did it take for the dealerhip to get the part in? I have about 1500 miles left on my warranty so I need to take it in the next few weeks.

My wife's ST is peeling too. Are these panels being replaced by the original warranty or does the Ford ESP also cover it?

My dealership had it in 2-3 days...

Mine was under original warranty, couldn't tell you about the Ford ESP...

I just called the local Dealer to get a price quote. I hope you folks are sitting down while reading this!

$127.69

I also found out that the Ford ESP does not cover the replacement.

I found several radio bezels on Ebay. I'm watching one of them, but I might end up repainting the one we have.
